Things you ought to never do…

Alright, day two – year three. Some advice: it is not advisable to take discrete mathematics without a proper understanding of set theory and moderate experience with formal proofs. Do not mishear your professor and try to make the power set of S a subset of S. It will keep you confused long into the night. I’d also recommend doing some in depth research when registering for a computer science class, because you have about a 50:50 shot of inadvertently being in ANOTHER barely comprehensible MATH class....

On My Mind

I publish a pitifully lacking weblog. I haven’t updated in months. Summer is over. The first day of school is tomorrow. And now, only a rant… It is not often that a memory of the past entreats my peaceful mind to act on some fanciful ideas it had wanted for the future. But when the past makes such a chaotic request – how possibly can I silence it? Waltzing in to my stable life – demanding answers for a self I no longer know....

Snipe on Ebay – The Easy Way!

Maybe you know the feeling, you’re salivating over an under-priced item on eBay. Your seconds away from owning the item. You’ve been the high bidder since the auction started. Just as the auctions ends, you refresh the listing page to bask in the joy of your new-found ownership – and you’ve been OUTBID. SNIPED. If you’d have known it would sell for paltry $1.25 more then your max bid, you’d have bumped ‘er up a little....

Hyde Park Produce – Chicago, IL

Of all the things I could blog about… flux, matrix theory, pointers in C… I’m writing today about Hyde Park Produce in Chicago, IL. Why? Because I’m impressed. As you may know (by reading some other posts on this blog), I’m not impressed by fancy signs or “glad” service… which is good for Hyde Park Produce (HPP) because they don’t really have either. What they do have, and what I was impressed with, is a nice selection and exceptionally affordable products....

2008

I haven’t written since 2007. Wish there was some great reason, but I can’t think of one a the moment. It’s cold here… that’s not an excuse, but maybe you’ll forgive me out of sheer pitty. Well, anyway… 2008 sucks. Ok, not horribly, and not all of 2008. Only Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays… and not all of each day; sometime between 11:30 and 12:20. Physics – electricity and magnetism – it sucks....

Whoa! An 11?! What do you mean it’s Thanksgiving already!?!

Maybe it’s just me, but this year is zipping past… I barely have time to breathe. Make haste, or things will pass us by! On to the news… I scored a dismal ~11 on a physics test last week. Not just any physics test… a midterm. No, this is not some kind of funny joke. The test was not out of 11 points. It was out of 39. It defeated me....

Around, just not blogging…

You know, what do I really have to blog about? I study for school, study for personal interests, cook, eat, sleep, and walk around (usually in order to do one of the aforementioned activities). Sometime I write poetry or take pictures… or am somehow creative, but I have other sections on my website for displaying such things. So, my blog is left stagnant. In fact, looking over past blog posts, the only real news my blog gets is about why I am not blogging....

homemade yogurt for breakfast, 25¢ for lunch

So, I gave it all away in the title. Yesterday I made homemade yogurt for the very first time. Not only was it easy, but it’s absolutely wonderful tasting! I plan on making more – eating about two quarts a month during the school year. Not only is it tasty and nutritious, it gives me something to do with milk that’s on the verge of expiration. So, that’s that. And the ridiculously cheap lunch… that’s not a one time deal....

~60lbs of groceries

Back in Chicago for a bit, planning for my next academic year. (Which is still quite some time off.) It’s been rainy, humid, and just warm enough to be uncomfortable. No real news. My okra out at the farm was finially doing well, and then it was misted by some weed killer – thanks to my uncle. Some of it is still alive; probably enough for pickling. Speaking of food, I took toady’s afternoon break from raining to make two grocery store runs....

Poetry commenting system complete... etc...

It has sure been a while since I’ve updated this blog. Shame on me. I can only try and do better. 🙂 The title says is all – you can now comment on my poetry… I’d love for you to leave me your thoughts. I’ve added a few poems recently – and will be adding more soon. Aside from doing a little work on my poetry, I’m going to be adding a recipe section to the website and will soon be attempting to unify the look of things throughout…...
